Good News from Haiti:  41o students attend school!

On November 4, 2023, Supporters of The Haiti EcoVillage School gathered at Emory Presbyterian Church to enjoy a Haitian meal and to hear the real stories from the people in the EcoVillages. Listen to this recording of the event with voices and stories from the people in the EcoVillages.

School opened on 11 September 2023. Only through the courage, resilience and commitment of the staff of the school are they able to start classes and provide a consistent, quality education for the children of the EcoVillage Community.

In stark contrast to the situation in the country where the economy is devastated, the government is dysfunctional, and violence is a pervasive threat, and as other schools are closing due to lack of support by the government and non-government organizations, the Ecovillage School serves as a beacon of hope for a better future in Haiti.

Even with shortages of food and fuel in Haiti, our partner, MPP manages to find the resources to feed the children lunch every day and provide transportation for the teachers to get to the school. Resources are stretched thin as the school continues to increase enrollment: 410 students now!

In the words of Ramain Exil, the Director of the School, "… we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Atlanta Group for your support and sacrifices to help the school. You remain in our prayers, and we pray that God blesses you and your family with strength to continue your valuable work and support for the school, as both the parents and children are in dire need..."

Your prayers and continued generosity are needed as we begin a new school year. Our work is important and makes a difference for the children and the future of their country.

The EcoVillage school offers safety and learning for over 420 children and their families. While many schools in Haiti have closed, this EcoVillage School remains open because of the commitment and support of the Haiti EcoVillage Partnership.
